Ex-Knick Felton suspended 4 games over gun incident

Former Knicks point guard Raymond Felton has been suspended for four games without pay for pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm, the NBA announced Thursday afternoon.

Felton was arrested in February after allegedly threatening his then-wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton, with a gun shortly after a buzzer-beating loss to the Mavericks at the Garden. The two officially divorced last month after getting married in 2012.

“I demonstrated poor judgment and I take full responsibility for my actions. Moving forward I’m eager to get to Dallas, to start fresh and make a positive impact in the Dallas metropolitan area,” Felton said in a statement.

After two seasons with the Knicks in his second stint with the franchise, Felton was sent to Dallas along with Tyson Chandler as part of the trade that brought Jose Calderon to New York earlier this summer.

Felton’s suspension will begin with the first game of the 2014-15 regular season.
