Livery driver fatally shot execution-style on Bronx street

A livery driver was shot execution-style in the head and left for dead in the middle of a Bronx street early Tuesday — the second fatal apparent carjacking of a cabbie in the borough in a week, officials said.

Aboubacar Bah, 62, was fatally shot in his black Toyota Camry after being set up by his passenger, sources said.

Bah had just chauffeured the man to the 700 block of Bryant Ave in Longwood about 6 a.m. when the thug shot him once in the back of the head, sources said.

At least three other men then converged on the car, ripping the mortally wounded Bah out of the front seat and tossing him to the pavement, sources said.

“They threw this guy to the ground like he was garbage,” a law-enforcement source said. “They just left him there for dead in the middle of the street.”

The three assailants then hopped in the car and sped away with the shooter still in the back seat, sources said.

“I heard one shot … and I looked out my window, and [Bah] was already dead. He had his baseball cap blown off his head,’’ said resident Lisa Mendez, 37.

Another neighbor who asked not to be named added, “I saw the cops taking prints off a car because the video shows one guy leaning on it. They didn’t take his chain, bracelet or wallet — I saw cops take them.”

They just left him there for dead in the middle of the street.

The law-enforcement source said, “It may have also been a botched robbery or a dispute over the fare” or a carjacking.

Bah, who worked for three decades at Webster Car Service in Tremont, was pronounced dead on the street.

A devastated manager at the car service described Bah as a “very nice guy” who was one of their longest-working drivers.

“He was an awesome driver. He was out there every night, working the graveyard shift all the time,” said manager Liz Sanchez. “He was outgoing, very funny and young at heart.”

Last Tuesday, 49-year-old livery driver Maoudo Kane was found fatally shot once in the head at 3412 Hunter Ave. in the Eastchester section during an apparent carjacking, authorities said.
