Brian McCann wasn’t around to enjoy this Carlos Gomez round-tripper.
Gomez hit a solo homer in the bottom of the first inning of the Brewers’ 5-2 loss to the Braves on Tuesday night and sprinted, all out, around the bases.
Here’s the context to Gomez’s dash: Late last season, Gomez homered against the Braves in Atlanta and took his sweet time rounding the bases, all while yelling at pitcher Paul Maholm and first baseman Freddie Freeman.
Before Gomez could reach home, he was confronted by catcher Brian McCann, setting off a memorable brawl that got three players get ejected — including Gomez, but not McCann, who is now with the Yankees.
