Suspect in 7 Long Island bank robberies arrested

This black-eyed bandit got around — cops say he pulled seven bank heists in just two weeks.

Brian Blackford, 40, of Kings Park, LI, made off with roughly $40,000 — by passing notes to tellers and demanding cash between May 24 and June 9, according to Suffolk County Police.

Cops nabbed the suspect on Monday after he tried to pull the same move at a Capital One in Nesconset — fleeing the bank toward a getaway car, police sources said.

Cops also arrested Fitzalla Coward, 51, of Brentwood — his alleged driver, police sources said.

On Tuesday, Blackford faced a judge while sporting the shiner.

Judge G. Ann Spelman at First District Court in Central Islip granted him $25,000 cash bail, Newsday reported.

Blackford “maintains his innocence,” his lawyer, Stephen A. Brown, told the paper.

Blackford is also accused of robbing a Capital One in Deer Park on May 24, a Bank of America in Commack on May 27, a Bethpage Federal Credit Union in Farmingdale on May 29, a Capital One in Farmingdale on June 2, a TD Bank in Sayville on June 3, and a Citibank in North Lindenhurst on June 5.

In each case, the suspect’s description matches Blackford’s — 5-foot-10 with a shaved head, medium build and a thin beard, cops said.

Blackford has a criminal record that includes a conviction for third-degree robbery. He was sentenced to 6 to 12 years in prison for the crime.
