A cat wedged inside the middle of a truck’s suspension spring was finally set free after firemen and police worked for three hours dismantling the vehicle, according to Central European News.

Vitaliy Bouranin said he did not notice anything different about his Toyota Land Cruiser as he left on a business journey in Sakhalin, a large island in the North Pacific Ocean in southeastern Russia.

The 32-year-old traveled around 50 miles at speeds over 80 mph, until he finally decided to stop for gas at a service station.

“As I was filling up, I heard a noise that sounded like a cat meowing,” Bouranin said.

“I thought it might be under the car so when I put the fuel nozzle back, I looked under the car and couldn’t see it, but I could still hear it. After a little poking around, I [finally] saw a patch of fur and realized the cat had somehow ended up inside the spring.”

The cat seemed perfectly relaxed, even as it sat wrapped inside the spring as garage personnel and emergency services worked to dismantle the truck.

After being removed safely, the cat was put into a box so it could return to Vitaliy’s hometown, where police hope to find its owner.
