Cuomo hauls in $8.4M for re-election campaign

ALBANY — It’s Rob vs. Goliath in the race for governor.

Gov. Cuomo hauled in another $8.4 million for his re-election campaign over the last six months, his campaign reported Tuesday, leaving him with a staggering $35 million in the kitty. Cuomo reported spending about $6.8 million.

His Republican opponent, Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, took in $2.7 million and had $2.4 million after paying bills.

The governor’s top donor was real-estate mogul Leonard Litwin, who poured in $200,000 through limited-liability companies.

Individual donors can’t give more than $60,800 under state regulations. But separate LLCs controlled by a single individual can easily get around the limit.
