Gunmen steal more than $180K from Caesars in Atlantic City

It was a mini-“Ocean’s Eleven” in the Garden State on Monday morning.

Two masked gunmen stole more than $180,000 from Caesars in Atlantic City, according to a report.

The robbers brandished a pistol and grabbed two plastic cash boxes containing a total of $181,200 at around 6:20 a.m., before fleeing in a car, according to the Press of Atlantic City.

The heist took place somewhere on the casino floor, the paper said, and the New Jersey State Police are investigating.

A description of the daring duo was not released, but State Police said that more information could be available Tuesday.

Caesars plans to close its Showboat Hotel and Casino amid troubled economic times for Atlantic City’s gambling venues.
