Diane and Julia triumph, while Aubrey just looks tragic

The week’s most stylish served up neutrals — and black and white and red (all over!) — refreshed in attractive ways. The worst worked a mix of the season’s biggest phenomenon, bad black, and another summer trend we’re calling “WTF white.”

The hits:

Diane Kruger

Thank God for Diane Kruger. She may look like the Crypt Keeper but dammit, she knows what to put on those bones.

The actress attended Fox’s Summer TCA All-Star Party in LA wearing a Marios Schwab keyhole jumpsuit that surpassed average with floor-length panels. She spiced things up with a bright red pumps, lips and nails that charmingly matched the motif on her Charlotte Olympia clutch.

Joanne Froggatt

When it comes to the “Downton Abbey” crew, the name Michelle Dockery has started to sound like “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!”

That’s why it was refreshing to see the one of its other stars — the help, no less — looking spectacular in Stella McCartney at the hit show’s Beverly Hills photocall.

To the “Magic in Moonlight” New York premiere, the French art director/model/mommy wore a slinky red Dolce & Gabbana slip. It’s about the hottest thing this mild summer has seen this so far.

Karen Gillan

The “Guardians of the Galaxy” star wore head-to-toe Louis Vuitton to the London premiere. It’s an exact replica of the ensemble as modeled on the runway, so we have to give demerits for laziness.

However, she gets all the points back because the whole thing is bangin’ and evocative of her intergalactic character in the film.

Maggie Gyllenhaal

The actress donned a sandy Maison Martin Margiela jumpsuit for the “Very Good Girls” New York premiere and did a very good job exuding comfort and style simultaneously.

Add to it black Roger Vivier pumps and a red Bulgari shoulder bag — done.

Honorable mention: Anna Faris

For all the laughs she delivers on-screen, Faris often falls flat in the fashion department.

But at the “Guardians of the Galaxy” LA premiere, the funny woman looked undeniably pretty in her bedazzled white Paule Ka dress.

The misses:

Uh-oh, looks like someone mistook the “Guardians of the Galaxy” LA premiere for a performance of “Pagliacci.”

The dress may have gone over well on the Emporio Armani catwalk, but it drowns Plaza’s petite frame in shapeless fabric, and makes her look like a clown.

LeAnn Rimes

Let’s see. Lacey bandeau-bra thing, wrinkled zipper-slit skirt, circa-2010 Lita boot — did Rimes not list these off to herself before wearing them together . . . in public? To Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami, no less.

She’d have been better off in a bikini.

Mariah Carey

For the Hollywood premiere of “Hercules,” Carey put on a bandage dress to prove, once again, it’s now impossible for her to not look like a bratwurst.

Selena Gomez

If word of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation gala in St-Tropez sounded a bit farcical to you, too, behold the wackiest outfit worn to it.

Whether is a few layers of tulle, the misplaced patch or the netted fascinator, something needs to come off. Proof every hot streak has its blips.
