‘America’s Got Talent’ contestant’s magic act goes viral

The new season of “America’s Got Talent” is still young, but the NBC talent competition show has already produced a viral video sensation.

Smoothini the Ghetto Houdini, who hails from Washington Heights, was featured on the show’s June 10 episode with his magic act.

His audition — which was posted to the “America’s Got Talent” YouTube page immediately thereafter — has garnered nearly 4.7 million views. It’s also proven a boon to Smoothini’s Las Vegas act, where he performs his “close-up” magic tricks in different clubs around the city. Smoothini next appears on “AGT” during the show’s “Judgment Week” round (July 22 and 23 on NBC).

Through four episodes, “AGT” is averaging 12.1 million viewers.

Meanwhile … Hot 97 DJ Angie Martinez abruptly resigned from the station Wednesday via Instagram.

“I am grateful to the Emmis family for my time with the company and the immeasurable way that it has shaped my life,” she wrote. “This was one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had to make but ultimately it is time to move on … and to be challenged in new ways.”

The 15-year Hot 97 vet hosted the 3-7 p.m. shift.
