Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the two men pictured above who allegedly attempted to mug and sexually assault an 18-year-old woman but were scared off by a good Samaritan.

The thugs ambushed the woman near Putnam and Seneca avenues in Ridgewood just before 3 a.m. Wednesday, according to law-enforcement authorities.

The man in the striped shirt and white cap punched the victim in the head while his cohort choked her, covered her mouth and tried to grab her purse, cops said.

The first man then began sexually assaulting the woman but a passerby approached and scared away the goons.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital where she was treated for cuts and bruises.


An NYPD traffic-enforcement agent was arrested Thursday morning after he violated an order of protection and assaulted the mother of his child in a Sunnyside home, law-enforcement sources said.

Kim Haynes, 26, threw the victim onto a bed and hit her with an open hand on the neck, the sources said.

Haynes was charged with criminal contempt, assault and harassment.

What a couple of meatheads!

Two men were charged with stealing bacon — including one who shoved packages down his pants — at supermarkets in Bushwick, authorities said.

At about 9:15 a.m. on July 10, Kenneth Brown, 55, swiped five packages of swine at a neighborhood Food Bazaar, court papers allege.

He was charged with possession of stolen property and petit larceny, according to District Attorney Ken Thompson.

At 12:45 p.m. that day, Terence Lewis, 53, was busted with three bags of bacon in his britches at the Pioneer supermarket on Broadway, a Criminal Court complaint states.

He was charged with ­petit larceny and possession of stolen property.


A boxer-briefs bandit was busted at a Boerum Hill pharmacy, cops said.

Johnny Boyd, 56, grabbed a package of Hanes underwear, Centrum Silver vitamins and Gillette razors from a Walgreens on Atlantic Avenue near Third Avenue at 11 a.m. last Saturday and tried to exit without paying, a Criminal Court complaint states.

At the door, an employee confronted Boyd, who allegedly assaulted him. The staffer suffered arm and hand cuts in the struggle, records state.

The thief then struggled with a cop, who suffered a sprained wrist.

Boyd was charged with robbery, assault, petit larceny, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.

Manhattan

A man was busted for hawking fake Burberry clothing in the West Village after a company rep spotted the knockoffs for sale, cops said.

Muhammed Javed, 46, was caught selling 13 dresses and one shirt bearing replica Burberry logos in Z & Z Luggage and Gift Shop on West 14th Street near Fifth Avenue at 3:20 p.m. on July 7, cops said.

An agent hired by Bur­berry deemed the merchandise counterfeit, cops said.

Javed was charged with trademark counterfeiting.


All gussied up and no place to go.

A man was taken into custoday after trying to steal $45 worth of makeup from a Duane Reade in Chelsea, sources said.

Calvin Pebbles, 20, entered the chain store on Eighth Avenue near West 16th Street at about 6 p.m. on July 10, took the cosmetics and tried to exit without paying, sources added.

He was caught and charged with petit larceny, according to police.


A fleet-footed thief walked off with shoes costing more than $1,000 from a store in Hudson Square, authorities said.

The suspect waltzed into Rick Owens on Hudson Street at around 12:15 p.m. Monday, snapped up a $1,332 pair of shoes, placed them in a black bag and strolled out.

A suspect description was not immediately available.

Staten Island

A couple lifted $11,000 worth of digital equipment from a Target superstore in Heartland Village, police said.

The two suspects pictured above entered the chain store at the Staten Island Mall at around 4:45 p.m. on June 24, took 12 computer hard drives from a display shelf and fled hand-in-hand, cops said.

The male suspect is believed to be in his early 20s, 5-foot-5 and about 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, a white cap and tan shorts.

The woman was last seen wearing a gray hat, blue overalls and a black tank top, according to police.
