Museum of Sex fined $350 for an improper gift-shop refund policy

City code enforcers seem hot and bothered by New York’s Museum of Sex — but not by its exhibits.

The Department of Consumer Affairs fined the Flatiron museum $350 for its inadequate gift-shop refund policy.

The museum failed to post return policies at the point of purchase, according to documents reviewed by The Post.

When an inspector bought a bar of novelty soap with a “Walk of Shame” scent on Jan. 16, the refund policy was on a receipt, but not posted, as required.

The Museum of Sex could have fought the ticket at a Feb. 25 hearing but no representative showed up, according to city records.

An administrative-law judge upheld the $350 fine.

The museum paid its fine on March 17, according to a Consumer Affairs rep.

A store clerk and museum rep told The Post on Tuesday they believed their refund policy, printed on each receipt, is good enough.

The receipt says no returns or refunds. But a museum rep said its store will gladly refund any item that’s either unopened or not used.
