Expect points galore in Packers-Seahawks opener

Thursday

Packers/SEAHAWKS OVER 46 1/2: Finally, here’s the next chapter of this NFC power show. The replacement-referee farce of two seasons back induced a swift end to that disturbing episode. The Pack’s seeking belated revenge for that affair. The ’Hawks are bucking Super Bowl hangover, yes — but they enjoy a hefty home-field advantage in CenturyLink. Seattle’s foresighted personnel people have slaved to assure last season wasn’t a one-shot, and with a healthy Percy Harvin and additional burners, Pete Carroll’s offense can keep pace with the standout stop unit.

Packers RB Eddie Lacy was the Offensive Rookie of the Year and will provide sustained service for Aaron Rodgers.

Though the Seahawks largely have been immune to the issue, if each and every ticky-tick defensive holding and incidental-contact occurrence gets flagged, offenses could prosper mightily. If the Packers get off well, track meet should be on, especially with B. J. Raji sidelined for visitors. Are we not entertained? It’s Over 46 ¹/₂ (for one unit).

Last week: 0-1. Aggie receivers were wishing stickum was legal (Utah State, minus one unit).

Season: 0-1
