‘Make Your Move’ a generic dance-fest

The latest entry in the street-dancer romance genre sees Donny (Derek Hough of “Dancing with the Stars”), a New Orleans tap artist with a checkered past, and Aya (Korean pop star BoA), a drumming-and-dancing wunderkind, falling in love amid the chaos of two warring New York nightclubs.

Donny’s foster brother Nick (Wesley Jonathan) runs an underground Brooklyn dance joint, while his ex-partner Kaz (Will Yun Lee) has opened up a more tony version in Manhattan, financed by a human checklist of sleazy Wall Street traits (Jefferson Brown) who “closes million dollar deals before coffee.”

The dancing’s fine here, but there’s little else to distinguish “Make Your Move,” an entirely generic drama in which two characters actually say to one another, “What if this doesn’t work?” “It has to.”

It doesn’t.
