Isaiah Whitehead sidelined for all-star game at Barclays

The hometown hero will be on the sideline Friday night when the nation’s top high school prospects take the floor at Barclays Center for the 13th annual Jordan Brand Classic.

Seton Hall signee Isaiah Whitehead of Coney Island won’t be playing in the all-star showcase because of a hamstring injury, his mom Ericka Rambert told The Post.

Whitehead suffered the injury prior to leaving for Chicago for the McDonald’s All-American game a few weeks ago, but played through the injury. However, it has yet to fully heal, and he would be risking further injury, possibly even surgery. He will be part of the week’s events, but won’t be suiting up.

The game still will have a local flavor, as Bronx native Chris McCullough, a Syracuse signee, and New Jersey’s Karl Towns, headed to Kentucky in the fall, will participate in the national game.

The regional game, pitting the top local prospects from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania against each other, tips off beforehand. It features four members of Seton Hall’s top 10 recruiting class, including Bishop Loughlin’s Khadeen Carrington and Whitehead’s Lincoln teammate, Desi Rodriguez.
