Police on Monday were looking for a man who is wanted for choking an elderly woman as she sat on the stoop of her Borough Park home.

In what police believe was a random attack, the thug approached the 88-year-old woman at 3:45 p.m. Saturday and threw her to the ground as she tried to stand up, according to cops.

He took off his red hoodie and allegedly attempted to strangle her with it.

He fled when the woman struggled to break free.

She was taken to Maimonides Hospital in stable condition.

The thug stands about 5-foot-5 and weighs around 140 pounds, according to police.


An arrest has been made in a fatal shooting in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Joseph Hutcherson, 20, was charged with murder after authorities placed him at the scene of Senecca McCullough’s death inside a Quincy Street building Aug. 20, according to police.

McCollough, 35, was shot in the head, cops said.

He was rushed to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hutcherson and McCollough knew each other, but it wasn’t clear what led to the deadly dispute, police said.


Manhattan

A woman was robbed at knife-point on her way home from work at an East Village cafe, cops said Monday.

The 35-year-old victim had just parted ways with a co-worker on East Ninth Street and Avenue A at around 5:30 a.m. Monday, when a thug suddenly accosted her, whipping out a knife and threatening: “Give me everything or I’ll kill you!”

The plucky woman struggled briefly with the thief and suffered a small cut on her arm.

The robber ran off with her Marc Jacobs purse, a Donna Karan wallet, a debit card, $300 in cash, a MetroCard, and her iPhone, according to authorities.

Investigators tried to track the phone using the Find My iPhone app, but the thief had turned it off.

The thug is 6-feet tall and in his 30s.


The Bronx

A young man was shot dead Monday in Longwood, authorities said.

Jonathan Santana, 26, was standing at East 163rd and Kelly streets at around 12:30 a.m. when a gunman opened fire, hitting Santana in the arm and chest, police said.

Santana was rushed to Lincoln Hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police did not know the motive or have a description of the killer.

Santana’s record shows several prior arrests, sources said.


A man was gunned down in Bedford Park, police said Monday.

Shawn Ross, 31, was found with several bullet wounds to the chest in front of an apartment building on Decatur Avenue at around 10:35 p.m. Sunday, cops said.

He was rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim had been arrested several times in the past, according to authorities.


The killer’s motive was not clear, sources said.

Police charged a third person Monday in connection with the brutal beating of an off-duty cop on his way to work.

A 15-year-old was charged with assault on a police officer, gang assault, grand larceny, possession of a weapon and possession of stolen property in connection with the beating at a bodega near East 167th Street at around 6 a.m. Saturday, cops said.

He was part of a gang of three who jumped the officer in the deli and continued the assault after the victim announced he was a cop, according to the NYPD.

During the struggle, Tyrone Selby grabbed the officer’s gun, but the cop got it back, police said.

The officer, however, dropped it as he fell to the floor.

The 15-year-old snatched the firearm and fled while Selby and Adrian Medina, 17, continued the beating, cops said.

Witnesses called 911 to report that the cop needed help, authorities said.

The cop was treated at Bronx Lebanon Hospital for a swollen eye and cuts to his arm, neck and head, police said.

Other officers rushed to the scene and nabbed Selby and Medina, according to police.

The 15-year-old was caught soon after with the stolen weapon, cops said. His name was withheld because he is a minor.
