Top 10 MTV Movie Awards moments

From steamy make-outs to some seriously crazy dance numbers, the MTV Movie Awards, being held on Sunday at the Nokia Theater in LA, has a way of leading viewers to wonder what’s going to happen next. With Conan O’Brien set to host “MTV’s second most prestigious awards show” Sunday night, we’re looking back at the show’s most jaw-dropping moments.

Lindsay Lohan gets down on stage (2004)

Ten years ago, Lindsay Lohan was at the top of her game. Not only was “Mean Girls” a mega-hit, but she was tapped to host the MTV Movie Awards, too. Gracing the stage in a winter white suit, Lilo got the crowd revved up by showing off her dance skills while her disapproving “parents” (Rachel Dratch and Andy Richter) watched.

May the force be with you, Jimmy (2005)

Before he hit the “Late Show” stage, Jimmy Fallon was MTV’s main MC. After hosting the Movie Awards in 2001 with Kirsten Dunst, Jimmy took the reins and manned the show solo four years later. Among the night’s many highlights, a laugh-out-loud spoof of “Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith.”

Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling’s epic lip lock (2005)

What’s more enchanting than watching “The Notebook”? How about seeing its stars (and then-lovers) re-enact the film’s glorious kiss on stage?! While accepting the “golden popcorn” for Best Kiss in 2005, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling delivered one unforgettable “acceptance speech.”

James Franco and Seth Rogen light up (2008)

Before James Franco made headlines for all the wrong reasons, he and longtime pal Seth Rogen made stoner comedies such as “Pineapple Express.” Tapped to present an award during the 2008 festivities, the duo made their way to the podium with a baggie full of questionable items in hand.

‘Brüno’ drops in on Eminem (2009)

Remember Brüno (Sacha Baron Cohen’s flamboyant creation)? Well, for those who need a refresher, the “fashinisto” made an appearance at the Movie Awards in 2009. Clad in an all-white ensemble (including angel wings), Brüno’s spectacle went downhill fast after the machine carrying him “malfunctioned,” dropping him straight into Eminem’s lap.

Les Grossman and J.Lo’s ultimate dance-off (2010)

Two years after the debut of “Tropic Thunder,” Tom Cruise slipped back into a fat suit to bring the outrageous Les Grossman back to life. The loud-mouth studio exec hit the stage at the 2010 Movie Awards and showed off his moves alongside Jennifer Lopez. Who knew Grossman (or Cruise, for that matter) had such skills?

Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johansson’s kiss (2010)

After accepting the prestigious Generation Award, Sandra Bullock planted one right on Scarlett Johansson. Needless to say, the kiss left us wondering, “Did that really just happen?”

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s fake-out (2011)

After years of wondering “will they or won’t they,” it seemed that “Twilight” stars (and rumored couple) Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were finally going to show some PDA on stage. Though Rob and Kristen got close during their acceptance speech, they noted that someone else deserved to be in on the action. Within moments, Rob sought out co-star Taylor Lautner and surprised him with a kiss. Ahh, bromance.

Elizabeth Banks gets carried away by the cast of ‘Magic Mike’ (2012)

Winning the “golden popcorn” is one thing, but being awarded the coveted prize by the cast of “Magic Mike” is quite another! Elizabeth Banks lived every girl’s fantasy during the 2012 ceremony when she accepted the award for Best On-Screen Transformation award from Matthew McConaughey, Channing Tatum and Joe Manganiello (a.k.a. Big Dick Richie). After thanking her husband in the audience, a very excited Elizabeth got carried away by the smokin’ hot fireman.

The cast of ‘Pitch Perfect’ rocks the MTV Movie Awards (2013)

Last year’s Movie Awards MC, Rebel Wilson, really knew how to get the party started — with a little help from her “Pitch Perfect” co-stars. After a mini-rendition of Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb,” Rebel imitated Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” while her co-stars rapped on. The “Super Fun Night” star saved the best part of her opening for last as the Barden Bellas graced the stage to join a dominatrix-clad Rebel. Can we say aca-awesome?
