Man tripped, fell over baby at the museum: suit

Baby steps can be hazardous to your health.

A Manhattan man claims he was hurt at a Queens museum when he tripped and fell — over an infant who had been left on the floor.

Vernon Steward, 83, was at the American Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria in April when he encountered the baby on the third floor, according to a lawsuit.

Steward’s Manhattan Supreme Court suit against the museum doesn’t say who the baby belonged to, but the Park Avenue resident knows where to point the finger of blame.

The accident was due to the “carelessness, recklessness [and] negligence” of the museum, says Steward, who is seeking $2.25 million in damages.
