Jeter uses all his wiles on perfect double-play deke

One of those famed Jeter intangibles, or prep for a post-retirement turn as an actor?

Or both. Derek Jeter helped the Yankees beat the Indians on Monday night not with his bat, his glove or his 40-year-old legs, but with his head, executing a perfect deke in the field to set up a crucial eighth-inning double play.

With the Yankees leading 5-3 and the tying run at the plate with one out, Asdrubal Cabrera hit a foul popup to third baseman Zelous Wheeler. But Jeter pantomimed receiving a double-play feed, causing baserunner Jason Kipnis to slide into second and lose track of the play, which allowed Wheeler to throw to first for an inning-ending forceout.

Jeter added a single and an extremely savvy bases-loaded walk as the Yankees claimed the series opener. Still got it.
