Fake cabbie who ‘assaulted mom, threw kids’ is in custody

NYPD released this sketch of the fake cab driver.

The fake cabbie who allegedly battered a desperate 26-year-old woman in an attempted sexual assault and flung her three kids to the ground in Queens is in custody, authorities said.

Pedro Vargas, 48, claimed to be a cab driver when he picked up the woman and her three children on 207th Street in Manhattan on Sunday, cops said.

When the cab arrived in Queens, Vargas tried to sexually assault the woman in the vehicle, according to police.

Once the scrappy mom resisted, Vargas allegedly went ballistic, elbowing her 5-year-old in the head before forcibly removing the 3-year-old from the car.

The driver tossed the victim’s third child, just 1 year old, to the ground before getting back into the car and fleeing.

All three children were taken to Elmhurst Hospital with minor injuries.

Vargas, of Yonkers, was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
