Christian Borle joins ‘Peter Pan’ cast

‘Smash” star Christian Borle is the latest name to join the cast of NBC’s live musical production of “Peter Pan.”

The Tony winner is finalizing a deal to pull double-duty on the upcoming Dec. 4 telecast, portraying the roles of Mr. Darling and Smee, the sidekick of Captain Hook, according to deadline.com. He joins a cast that already includes Christopher Walken as Captain Hook and “Girls” star Allison Williams in the title role of Peter Pan.

Borle starred in last year’s live production of “The Sound of Music” on NBC in the role of Max Detweiler, played theatrical composer Tom Levitt for two seasons on “Smash” and is appearing in the second season of “Masters of Sex.” He also won a Tony in 2012 for “Peter and the Starcatcher.”
