They’re jihadists gone wild!
Hootin’ and hollerin’ Islamic militants partied like it was spring break in Cancun on Sunday after invading a US Embassy annex in Libya.
The terrorist hooligans transformed the US digs into a Mideast version of “Animal House” — raucously cheering each other on as they took turns diving off a balcony into a swimming pool.
Video posted online showed the thugs making their best attempts at Olympic-style high dives, but most ended up in clumsy face-plants.
The men belong to the Islamist terror group known as Dawn of Libya, which seized control of the country’s capital of Tripoli last week. The militia group stormed the embassy the day after taking the capital.
American personnel had been evacuated from the site July 26 amid fears of an imminent attack as violence escalated.
US Ambassador to Libya Safira Deborah, who fled the country along with her staff last month and has been staying in Malta, tweeted that the militants’ poolside bash appeared to have occurred in the residential area.
“But cannot say definitely since not there,’’ she said.
The ambassador insisted in another tweet that “to my knowledge & per recent photos the US Embassy Tripoli chancery & compound is now being safeguarded and has not yet been ransacked.”
A journalist with The Associated Press gained access to the Islamist party house Sunday and said windows had been smashed, but nearly everything else — including treadmills, TVs and computers — were still intact and in good shape.
The militia associated with the Dawn of Libya is not tied to the notorious Ansar al-Shariah group, which is responsible for the deadly attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi — the country’s second-largest city — on Sept. 11, 2012, authorities said.
Then-US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans died in that attack.
