Man wielding shotgun killed by cops after shooting daughter, dog

An 85-year-old man was shot and killed by police outside his Queens home after he called 911 and said, “I just shot my daughter,” police and witnesses said.

The man, who also shot his dog, greeted responding officers at his Astoria doorstep with a 12-gauge shotgun in his hands–and ignored warnings to drop the weapon, witnesses said.

“He comes out. All you see is him pointing the gun…at the cops. They told him to drop it. He doesn’t drop it. They shot him,” said 15-year-old Bryan Garcia, who was playing basketball nearby.

The man died at Mount Sinai Hospital. The woman, believed to be shot in the head, was in critical condition at Elmhurst Hospital, police said.

The dog was in serious condition at the ASPCA in Manhattan.

Eric Soto, also 15, was playing basketball with Garcia when the shooting happened.

“We thought the guy with the rifle, if he would have fired, he would have hit us….the gun was pointed at us,” Soto said.
