Woman claims ex-cop boss raped her 18 times in ‘torture chamber’

A 47-year-old woman claims her ex-cop boss raped her 18 times in a “veritable torture chamber” of a locked office at a Bronx hospital, according to her shocking federal lawsuit against her former supervisor and her employer.

“I was scared every single day,” the tearful social worker said in an interview with The Post. “He told me he had a gun. I didn’t pick up the phone and call the cops because he was one of them.”

The Bronx woman, identified as Jane Doe in the Manhattan suit, was hired by Bronx Lebanon Hospital in July 2012 to care for AIDS patients at the Highbridge Woodycrest Center, just north of Yankee Stadium.

Her boss, Michael Reingold, 53, a retired NYPD officer, was the head of the center.

“From day one, Reingold made it a point to let plaintiff know that he was a retired police officer and that [she] was always required to do whatever he said or she would be fired,” the suit says.

The John Jay College graduate started out hitting on his underling, telling co-workers they were having an affair, and then moved her to an out-of-the-way office, according to court papers.

“Plaintiff was scared and felt like she was imprisoned in this new office location,” her suit says.

There, Reingold allegedly bolted the door and forced himself on the woman, threatening her job and safety if she complained.

“The office in which [Reingold] placed plaintiff became a veritable ‘Tortune Chamber’ where [he] would violate [her] in the most unspeakable ways,” the filing alleges.

Specifically, the suit says Reingold forced her “to have vaginal sex on at least 12 occasions” and “oral sex on at least six occasions.”

“She became so anxious and terrified that she would frequently vomit from the terror and the situation [Reingold] put her in,” according to court papers.

The social worker tried to stop the attacks, but “the more forceful the rejects were the more forceful Reingold became with his physical threats, verbal threats and mental abuse,” the suit says.

Her “distress was accentuated by the fact that she had already been sexually assaulted as a young girl by six youths in the subway,” the filing says.

The woman finally reported the incidents to human resources director Maria Collura, who allegedly told the victim that “you have to go or he will hurt you,” according to court papers. She resigned on July 8, 2013.

After the woman’s attorney filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Reingold was fired last fall, lawyer Derek Smith told The Post.

“There is no more heinous act than the allegations in this case,” Smith said. “I can only hope that with the right treatment and therapy, she will recover.”

He said he has hospital-staff witnesses who saw Reingold emerge from the office on multiple occasions, followed by their emotionally distraught co-worker.

Reingold now works as an investigator for a hospitality company that serves the Yankees.

Smith said he is pursing the claim in civil instead of criminal court because the encounters were behind closed doors and difficult to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.

Reached at his Eastchester, NY, home Thursday morning, Reingold said, “This is the first I’m hearing of” the suit.

When asked whether he was notified about his former co-worker’s EEOC complaint that led to his ouster, he said, “They notified me of something, but that was months ago.”

Reingold declined to answer further questions.

She is suing for an unspecified amount.

Hospital spokesman Errol Schneer said, “We are in receipt of the complaint filed by our former employee and we are investigating it.” He added that Bronx Lebanon has policies in place for anonymous reporting of sexual harassment or any type of sexual assault.
