Apple’s lips are sealed over September event

If you build it, they will come.

Apple’s secretiveness over its Sept. 9th event has created a bit of a frenzy outside the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, Calif.

Reporters and Apple fanatics have been flocking to the center, where Steve Jobs introduced the Mac in 1984, in hopes of catching a glimpse something — anything — that might hint at what Apple is planning.

But all they are seeing is construction crews on a building being erected behind the Flint Center, and lots and lots of security.

“I’ve seen construction workers use forklifts to move huge wooden boxes inside .. but we still don’t have a clue,” a reporter for KPIX 5 in San Francisco reported on Friday.

The notoriously tight-lipped gadget maker teased fans this week with invitations to he event that came with the cryptic line: “Wish we could say more.”
