Rosanna Scotto tapped as honorary chair for charity gala

You don’t get much more “New York” than Rosanna Scotto — so it’s no surprise that the “Good Day New York” anchor will serve as the honorary chair for the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund’s annual gala.

The gala, which will take place Oct. 23 at the Waldorf Astoria, pays tribute to the city’s fallen first responders, raising money for the families they’ve left behind. The charity has distributed over $128 million to hundreds of families since being started in 1985 by former Mets star Rusty Staub.

“Good Day New York” airs on Ch. 5, which is adding a new show to its daytime lineup starting Monday, Sept. 8 with the premiere of “RightThisMinute,” which will air at noon. The show, which debuted last September, has a new co-host, Oli Pettigrew, and is devoted to covering Web videos before they go viral — and telling the stories behind those videos. It will also air in LA, Chicago, Boston, Dallas-Fort Worth and Washington, DC, among many other markets.

Pettigrew joins current hosts Beth Troutman, Christian Vera, Nick Calderone and Gayle Bass.

Judge Greg Mathis, the host of veteran daytime court show “Judge Mathis,” will be here this Saturday at Denny Moe’s Superstar Barbershop (Frederick Douglass Boulevard in Harlem) to help promote the “Fatherhood Buzz: Safe and Successful School Year” campaign. The aim of the campaign — organized by the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse — is to work with barbershops and community organizations to counter bullying and cyber-bullying, teach safety strategies and let people know how to seek help from an adult. (Mathis has four grown children.)

“Judge Mathis,” meanwhile, will kick off its 16th season Sept. 8 at a new home — CBS-owned WLNY (Ch. 55), where it will air weekdays at 2 and 3 p.m.

Last, but not least …

The 9th Annual New York’s Funniest Reporter Show will be held Sept. 14 (5 p.m.) at Comic Strip Live (1568 Second Ave.). Participants this year include The Post’s Laurel Babcock, NY1’s Polly Kreisman and CJ Papa (Fios 1 News) … Sept. 21: Women’s Health Magazine hosts its 3rd Annual NYC Run10 Feed10 race, featuring Ginger Zee (“Good Morning America”), who will guest-host and run in the race (down the West Side Highway ending at Pier 84 at Hudson River Park).
