Assailant opens fire, injures two teens

Two young men were shot and seriously injured in Queens Sunday night, authorities and witnesses said.

A group of teens was walking on 149th Street near 90th Avenue in Jamaica at about 10 p.m. when an assailant opened fire, striking a 17-year-old in the back and another victim in the head, officials said.

The 17-year-old collapsed at the scene, while his pal tried to flee the fusillade, running to 148th Street before falling against a car, witnesses said.

“He fell right on my car, by the back left tire,” said Keston Austin, 30, who came outside to discover the grisly scene. “An ambulance came and while they put him [on the stretcher] he wasn’t speaking and his arms just dropped down.”

Both victims were taken to Jamaica Hospital where they were expected to survive, police said.

There were no arrests as of early Monday morning, according to authorities.
