Two charged in hate-crime attack on black auxiliary cop

Two white men attacked a black auxiliary police officer while he was walking his dog in Crown Heights — yelling ugly racial slurs in an assault that prosecutors are treating as a hate crime, authorities said Tuesday.

Samuel Brendler, 21, and Ahrone Koskase, 22, punched Dieuphene Hyppolite, 56, in his face and body, threw garbage cans at him and yelled, “F–k you, you f–king n—-r!” on Saturday evening, according to a criminal complaint.

Hyppolite’s wife, Monita, said her husband — an auxiliary cop at the 71st Precinct — told her his attackers appeared to be drunk.

“I feel terrible because he could get killed,” she said.

Both suspects were charged with assault as a hate crime, a felony, and held in lieu of $5,000 bail.
