Homeless man stabs subway passenger in Queens

A knife-wielding homeless man walked up to a passenger getting off a train in Queens and stabbed him in the eye Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

The frightening attack took place at the Kew Gardens E and F station, just a block from Queens Criminal Court.

The 26-year-old victim, whose name was withheld, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

It was not clear whether doctors would be able to save the sight in his eye.

The alleged stabber, Kristopher Brown, who gave his address as a homeless shelter, was charged with felony assault.

After the attack, which took place at about 2:15 p.m., Brown walked upstairs to the street and hopped aboard a bus.

Cops tracked it down using the vehicle’s number, which was taken down by a witness who saw a blood-covered man get on.

Officers pulled over the bus at Union Turnpike and 149th Street.

Brown jumped out the back door as the officers were evacuating the passengers, officials said.

But a K-9 cop, whose dog got the suspect’s scent from a jacket he dropped, tracked him down.

Cops believe that the attack was random and that the two men did not know one another.
