Charges dropped against famed jewelry designer’s wife

A well-known jewelry designer’s wife, who was busted along with her husband during a fight with NYPD cops over the couple’s towed Mercedes, caught a break in court Wednesday.

Gina de Givenchy, 47, had been charged with obstruction, a misdemeanor, in the November 2013 incident. The charge against her was tossed.

Gina had been arrested along with then-tipsy husband James de Givenchy, 50, after he started a ruckus when he noticed their Mercedes Benz being towed and she jumped in to help pull cops off him.

Her husband — the nephew of famous celebrity designer Hubert de Givenchy — climbed into the driver’s seat of the car as it was hauled onto the back of an NYPD tow truck. He refused to leave despite cops’ request.

He was eventually charged with assault after allegedly punching an officer in the face but wound up copping last month to disorderly conduct, a violation, in exchange for five days of community service.

His wife, dressed in a chic, all-black ensemble for her Manhattan Supreme Court appearance Wednesday, declined comment.

“The disposition speaks for itself,” said Charles Clayman, the lawyer for both the husband and wife. “[It] loudly speaks for what the merits of the people’s case was.”
