A yellow cab burst into flames on the Queensboro Bridge Thursday afternoon, officials said, shutting down the span’s upper roadway and causing serious traffic delays.

Firefighters were called to extinguish the engine fire at around 4:15 p.m. as the vehicle burned on the Manhattan bound lane just before the ramp Second Avenue near 59th Street.

The occupants of the car managed to get out in time and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters are still at the scene and have not yet determined the fire’s cause.
