Which beloved ‘Boy Meets World’ characters return for the sequel?

After nearly two years of anticipation, the “Boy Meets World” sequel “Girl Meets World” finally premieres on Friday (9:45 p.m.), giving us the first glimpse of the sitcom’s beloved characters since ABC’s “TGIF” show ended in 2000.

The new Disney Channel show follows Riley (Rowan Blanchard), the 12-year-old daughter of “BMW” couple Cory and Topanga Matthews, who are living in New York City with their family.

But the high school sweethearts (reprised by stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel) aren’t the only “Boy Meets World” alums returning for the sequel — here’s a look at all the familiar characters who will be dropping by.

Cory Matthews (Ben Savage)

Cory is now a history teacher at the middle school his daughter attends and has taken on the sequel’s Mr. Feeney (William Daniels) role, using his history lessons to teach Riley and her friends about life and growing up.

Topanga Matthews (Danielle Fishel)

Topanga — who moved to New York with Cory to pursue a law internship at the end of “BMW” — is now juggling her career as a lawyer with raising Riley and her little brother Auggie (August Maturo).

Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong)

Cory’s childhood best friend is still in his life. Shawn will appear in at least two episodes, including a holiday-themed episode where he befriends Riley’s best friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), who like him has a troubled past.

Cory’s longtime mentor and former next-door neighbor — now in his 80s — appears in the “Girl Meets World” pilot (we assume to help Cory with some words of wisdom).

Stuart Minkus (Lee Norris)

Cory’s geeky former classmate and friend now has a son of his own, Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis), a similarly nerdy kid who has a crush on Riley and Maya.

Harley Keiner (Danny McNulty)

Karma is rough — Cory’s former high school bully on “Boy Meets World” apparently now works as a janitor at the school Riley attends, judging by this Instagram photo.

Alan and Amy Matthews (William Russ and Betsy Randle)

Cory’s parents reprise their roles in the holiday-themed episode where they share a dinner table with the Matthews family, Maya and Shawn.

Cory’s younger brother — who was just a newborn in the “Boy Meets World” finale — is now a teenager and uncle to Riley and Auggie. Joshua (played by a different actor) will appear in at least two episodes, according to IMDb.
