Changes at Domino take effect

Michelle Adams, who was editor-in-chief of the relaunch of Domino, is packing it in and heading back to Michigan.

The print and online editing jobs that she was doing will now be split in two.

Robert Leleux is the new editorial director of the print version, which is a 200,000 circulation quarterly. He had been Domino’s creative director and the former managing editor of Lonny, the popular online shelter zine that was started with Adams.

Krissy Tiglias, the new digital director of Domino, was previously deputy editor of Real Simple.com.

Domino Media is minority owned by Condè Nast, which had been the original publisher of the magazine when it folded in 2009. It was brought back to life last year, with a handful of venture backers and Condé Nast in a minorty role.

It is housed on West 39th Street, not at Condé’s headquarters and as such won’t be relocating.

Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer Beth Brenner said that the magazine will probably be increasing frequency in 2015 and has recently begun accepting subscriptions for the first time through its website at the same price as the newsstands: $48 a year for four issues.

Domino CEO Cliff Sirlin said that the company is still working on the original $6 million to $7 million that was put into the company by himself and two other individuals, Andy Appelbaum and Aaron Wallace, as well as the venture firms Launch Capital and iNovia.

The company is still in the investment stage, but Sirlin predicted revenue in 2014 would land between $5 million and $10 million. “We’ll be profitable definitely in year two,” he said.
