Goldman Sachs chief: I’m here to stay

The Blankfein era has no end in sight.

Goldman Sachs chief Lloyd Blankfein said Tuesday that he “can never imagine leaving” his position atop the bank.

“I love what I do because it gives me a lot of exposure to great people and influence,” he said in an interview on Bloomberg TV.

The comment comes after Jamie Dimon, CEO at JPMorgan, said he wants to stay in his jobs another five years, according to a report.

There had been a number of high-profile defections in the preceding months at the bank, like Mike Cavanaugh, the former chief operating officer and a Dimon confidante.

Blankfein has said before that he has no plans to leave, said David Wells, a Goldman spokesman.

Blankfein’s heir apparent, Gary Cohn, has held his position as president and COO since 2006.

Wells declined to comment on the specifics of any succession plan.
