It’s a small world after all!
While reminiscing over an old photo taken at his preschool’s Halloween party, a husband was amazed to discover his wife standing just feet behind him – 17 years before they thought they first met.
Having no recollection of each other as kids, Jason Roth and Jessica Roth, both 35, were amazed to find out that they may have known each other way before they met at a club while attending Florida State, Huffington Post reports.
“It was a pretty amazing revelation that despite me spending a majority of my childhood in Miami, we managed to go to preschool together,” Jason said in an email.
Jessica is from Lakeland, which is about 235 miles away from Miami.
He attended preschool in Lakeland because he was living with his aunt at the time, according to the Huffington Post.
To be fair, the couple had been told that they went to the same school as young children, but it wasn’t until Jason spotted a little girl decked out in a pink genie costume that the truth was unveiled.
Once they found out about their lifelong connection, more and more coincidences began to unravel.
“We also discovered that we lived in the same dorm freshman year and we had more friends in common then we originally thought,” Jason said.
“Apparently, she used to come down to the cafe I worked in…and order beignets from me.”
About a year and a half after their astonishing discovery, the coincidental couple tied the knot on April 9, 2005 and even made sure to use the photo for their ‘Save the Date” wedding announcement, Huffington Post reports. They’ll be celebrating their 10th anniversary next year.
“Life is hard and sometimes our orbits get further apart,” Jason added. “But then they come back together and I couldn’t be more grateful to have such a wonderful partner in life.”
