Topless grandmother was aggressor in family’s fight with cops: police

She was nearly naked and chomping mad.

The topless Brooklyn grandmother who was caught on video brawling alongside her family against a dozen cops was the flailing, biting aggressor in the melee, law- enforcement officials insisted Saturday.

Denise Stewart, 48, faces two felony assault charges after allegedly biting a cop’s finger while resisting arrest, according to sources.

Police had been called to the family’s Kings Highway apartment on July 13 after a bottle flung from a window struck a child outside, said police sources.

Arriving cops heard screaming and fighting on the second floor and knocked on Stewart’s door. She answered wearing only panties and a towel, and told cops to go away, the sources said.

Cops pushed inside anyway, finding Stewart’s daughter, 12, with facial cuts, a source said.

“She [the girl] said her mom and her sister were ‘beating me with a belt,’ ” the source said.

When cops tried to cuff Stewart, all hell broke loose.

Another daughter, Diamond, 20, was charged with resisting.

Even the injured 12-year-old, whose name is being withheld by The Post, was charged with assault and weapons possession for a broken pair of scissors allegedly recovered from her pocket.
