Europe’s Infront ‘sports’ $1 billion price tag: sources

European sports representation company Infront Sports & Media is on the block with owners looking for a $1 billion price tag, according to several sources.

The company, which holds rights to produce FIFA World Cup TV and radio productions, represents Ironman events and several Olympic Winter sports federations, was acquired by buyout firm Bridgepoint for around $730 million in 2011.

The Switzerland-based company, which has offices around the globe, just won rights to sell sponsors on a package of famous marathon events, including those in New York, Chicago and Boston.

The company is said to be looking for a deal that values it up to 12 times earnings.

“They’ve sent out letters to people, but they’re doing it on a selective basis. They’d like to get a multiple of 10-12 times earnings,” said a source familiar with talks.

Sources tell The Post that Lazard is quietly reaching out to potential owners. One source said that group included Vivendi, TPG, Blackstone, Silver Lake and Providence Equity Partners.

Lazard did not return a call for comment.
