Gunman shoots up housing project then crashes getaway car

A gunman shot up a Queens housing project Thursday before fleeing with an accomplice and getting into car wreck officials and witnesses said.

The duo had just gunned down a 30-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy at the Astoria Houses on 8th Street just after 4:30 p.m. before fleeing in a black Acura down 27th Avenue.

But when they reached the corner of 21st Street, their getaway car collided with a gold Honda in the intersection, scattering debris all over the roadway.

One of the dazed crooks got out of the mangled car and bolted. He is still on the loose.

His partner was arrested at the scene, where police also recovered a firearm, cops said.

Cop’s from the NYPD’s Emergency Services Unit and K9 Unit were still scouring the neighborhood looking for the outstanding shooter, while police helicopters whirled above.
The two shooting victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where the 30-year-old victim was listed in critical condition, officials said. The 15-year-old is stable.
