An aspiring rapper and his manager were fatally shot in Manhattan early Sunday, part of a bloody weekend in which 13 others also were wounded by gun violence, authorities said.

Police believe that rapper Francisco Mercedez, 29, and manager Kenny Jimenez, 21, were targeted in front of a deli on Broadway near West 155th Street in Harlem at around 3 a.m.

They were gunned down by a man in a white sedan, a witness said, after returning from a record-release party in Connecticut.
