Tony Gwynn fans upset at lack of All-Star tribute

All-Star Game festival-makers and broadcasters upset some viewers Tuesday night by neglecting to pay tribute to San Diego Padres great Tony Gwynn, who passed away a month ago due to complications from salivary gland cancer.

Hall of Famer and former Padre Dave Winfield was among those disappointed by the omission.

FOX said that a video feature aired prior to the game on Fox Sports 1, the cable network which hosted a majority of the All-Star pregame coverage before FOX took over at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.

The Padres, perhaps responding the absence of Gwynn coverage on the network telecast, tweeted a memorial picture after the game.
