Firebug set 3 church fires in 3 days

One man has set three church fires in three days, cops said.

The suspect began his Holy Week spree around 2:45 a.m. Saturday, when he lit newspapers on fire and slipped them under the door of the Greater New Beginnings Church on East 98th Street in Brownsville, cops said.

At 2:35 a.m. on Palm Sunday, the firebug hurled something he had set on fire through a bathroom window at the Iglesia Cristiana Church on Pitkin Avenue, near Legion Street, police said.

On Monday morning, the fire fiend struck again at St. Mark’s on Union Street, where he lit another newspaper on fire, according to cops.

Police released video of the pyro looking around furtively before slipping the flaming material under one of the church doors.

All of the fires were minor and no one was injured, cops said.
