Staffer claims CEO sexually assaulted her in chauffeured car: suit

A New Jersey saleswoman slapped her boss with a federal lawsuit accusing him of sexually assaulting her in his chauffeured car and threatening her job if she reported him, according to her complaint.

Melanie Alvarado, 22, claims Abraham Thomas, the CEO of Manhattan supply company Universal Business Solutions Inc., choked her, ripped open her pants and then, when she resisted, ordered the chauffeur to drive her to his Monmouth County, NJ, mansion.

Once they were at the home, he allegedly yelled, “You see this house? You see the power I have? You see who you are messing with?”

Alvarado said she “was destroyed” by the assault.

“I never in a million years thought he would do that,” she told The Post. She stayed in bed for months after the attack, paralyzed by fear and anxiety, her suit says.

Alvarado, of Union City, NJ, says in court papers that the married Thomas — who is facing criminal charges related to the March 28, 2013, incident — started hitting on her shortly after she was hired in 2011 to work at Universal Business Solutions Inc., which caters to tech giants such as Panasonic and Canon.

“Thomas would frequently tell Alvarado that he would take care of her student loans, that he would rent an apartment for her and other ‘incentives’ in order to induce her to have sex with him,” according to court papers.

Thomas even told the financially strapped Alvarado that he wanted her to take over the John Street company one day.

But the young sales associate resisted his advances, according to her Manhattan federal suit filed Tuesday.

In another incident, Thomas is accused of promising to treat Alvarado and another male employee to a massage at Spa88 on Fulton Street last March, but then he burst into the young woman’s private room and pinned her against the wall, the suit says.

He allegedly warned, “I can replace you anytime. Who do you think you are?”

Alvarado fled, saying, “You can’t buy me. I am not for sale!” the suit says.

Thomas did not show up for work the next day, but he did come to a happy hour at Ryan Maguire’s Ale House on Cliff Street.

At the pub, her boss gave her the cold shoulder and she asked his chauffeur, Fabio, to take her home as he had done in the past, the suit says.

That’s when Thomas allegedly jumped in the car, “grabbed Alvarado and threw her down in the back of the car,” the suit says.

He then “began pushing his face towards her vagina,” according to the suit.

She finally convinced the driver to take her home after her boss showed off his opulent residence.

Alvarado, who was bleeding, went with her sister to the police to file a complaint and was treated by EMS workers, her suit says.

Thomas also allegedly took male clients for “erotic” massages and forced staffers to accompany him to a karaoke bar, where he slapped their buttocks.

“This is one of the worst acts of sexual harassment that I’ve seen,” said Alvarado’s attorney Derek T. Smith.

Alvarado is seeking monetary damages.

A criminal case is pending against Thomas in Monmouth County, NJ, prosecutors said.

He faces up to 10 years behind bars on sexual assault and coercion charges.

Neither Thomas nor his attorney returned messages for comment.
