Rob Ford set to go back to work after rehab

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is making good on at least one of his promises — returning to his job.

The crack-smoking mayor is scheduled to check out of the GreenStone rehab facility in Canada and plans to return to work on July 1, according to CTV News.

The announcement comes just two months after Ford took a voluntary leave of absence to get help for his alcohol and substance-abuse problems.

Prior to his stint in rehab, the Toronto City Council had stripped Ford of most of his powers.

The politician’s troubles started in May 2013 when a video emerged of him smoking crack. Since then, his belligerent rants have been caught on camera several times — in one video, he threatened to kill an unknown man.

“I’m gonna kill that f—ing guy. I’m telling you, it’s first-degree murder,” Ford said in one of his “drunken stupors” on a video published by the Toronto Star last August.

Ford’s brother Doug said he’s excited for his brother’s return.

“Can’t wait to have him back and get into the rice,” he said to CTV News. “Game on.”

Ford is hoping to win re-election in October.
