Anne Hathaway joins rally to free kidnapped girls

Anne Hathaway joined the worldwide outcry to rescue the nearly 300 schoolgirls kidnapped in Nigeria.

The “Les Misérables” star and husband Adam Shulman led a “Bring Back Our Girls” rally outside a federal building on Wilshire Boulevard in LA on Thursday with the organization Rescue Our Girls.

In sunglasses and a festive African-style scarf, Hathaway, 31, grabbed a megaphone and led a chant of “Bring back!” — which the crowd followed with “Our girls!”

The rally was organized to pressure the Nigerian government to seriously pursue the rescue of the schoolgirls, who were captured by the terrorist group Boko Haram and will likely be sold into sex slavery or forced marriages.

In addition to #bringbackourgirls tweets by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Michelle Obama, celebrities like reality star Khloe Kardashian, “Entertainment Tonight” host Nancy O’Dell, TV host Wendy Williams, hip-hop star Chris Brown and model Cara Delevingne tweeted their support of the cause.

The organizers used Hathaway’s participation in the rally to encourage others to join on Friday.

“LA RALLY FRIDAY 5/9, 9A-10A for day two. #AnneHathaway supported the girls today, will you tomorrow? Wear red please! #BringBackOurGirls,” the Rescue Our Girls Twitter account posted.
