Jeremy Lin headed to the Lakers as Rockets clear room for Bosh

Linsanity looks like it’s landing in La La Land.

Yahoo! Sports is reporting the Houston Rockets will trade Jeremy Lin, a future first-round pick and other draft considerations to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for cash and the rights to an overseas player.

With LeBron James’ decision to return to Cleveland, fellow free agent Chris Bosh is expected to sign a max deal with Houston, where the two-time champion will help form one of the league’s top teams, alongside James Harden and Dwight Howard. In order for Houston to remain under the salary cap, the Rockets needed to rid themselves of Lin’s contract.

Lin is entering the final year of a backloaded three-year, $25 million deal he signed with the Rockets in 2012, after finishing his lone, unforgettable season with the Knicks.

Last season, Lin, 25, averaged 12.5 points and 4.1 assists with the Rockets.
