Snapchat CEO ‘mortified’ over frat-chat emails

Evan Spiegel, Snapchat’s 23-year-old CEO, admitted to being “mortified” last week by the release of some frat-chat e-mails he penned as a Stanford undergrad a half decade ago. Who wouldn’t be?

Valleywag, the tech-gossip blog, exhumed Spiegel’s indiscreet and unabashedly misogynistic e-mails about a night of frat-boy debauchery dressed up as a pledge-recruitment drive.

The content of the e-mails are not fit to print, but On the Money got the thoughts of Eric Schiffer, reputation expert and chairman of ReputationManagementConsultants.com, about Spiegel’s missives.

“Honestly, I think he should resign,” Schiffer said. “For women who have fought for justice and equality, this is a huge slap in the face — especially from someone who runs a large, successful tech company.

“Clearly, he has no respect for woman and is a misogynist,” he added.
