Thief nets Beyonce ‘visual video’ jewels in store heist

A thief robbed thousands of dollars of bling Friday afternoon from an exclusive Upper East Side jeweler, including baubles worn by Beyonce in her music videos, law enforcement sources said.

A female manager at Margo Manhattan at 1202 Madison Ave. near East 88th Street buzzed in a man posing as a customer about 1:30 p.m., sources said.

Once in the store, the man pretended to be browsing before forcing the 53-year-old manager into a back room, where he tried but failed to tie her up with ribbons used for gift wrapping, the sources said.

“He threatened her with a Taser. We all are shaken up,” owner Margo Manhattan told The Post.

When that failed, he found a key and tried to use it to open display cases containing diamonds, gold and other valuable baubles, but could not get the cases open.

The crook, described as a black man in his 30s, then returned to the back room where he spotted an open safe filled with jewelry, grabbed several thousand dollars worth and fled.

He tried but failed to tie her up with ribbons used for gift wrapping.

“The man told her to stay quiet and she did,” Manhattan said, adding that she always told her staff to do what the thief wants during a robbery.

“I’d rather them get the jewelry than have them hurt anyone,” she said. “Their safety is more important. I can replace the jewelry but I can’t replace their life.”

Items stolen included jewelry Beyonce wore for her “visual album” released last year, as well as “Passion Rings” made for Selena Gomez.

Manhattan is the daughter of prima ballerina Karin von Aroldingen and goddaughter to ballet genius George Balanchine.
