Phil Jackson apparently didn’t want to give too much away before Tuesday’s press conference to announce the identity of the Knicks new head coach, but when asked if he had hired Derek Fisher, Jackson had a simple response:
“Go fish.”
Jackson laughed, but a security guard quickly interrupted the Knicks’ president’s brief interaction with reporters after Jackson finished watching the Rangers lose Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals at the Garden, 3-0, Monday night.
Asked if he was relieved the coaching search was over, Jackson responded, “Say what? Oh…”
And then he stepped into a waiting SUV.
