Yahoo! adviser Dibble joins Cablevision as CTO

Cablevision boss Jim Dolan just drafted a high-powered tech executive to soup up the cable operator’s cloud-based offerings and its much-touted WiFi.

Former Yahoo! executive David Dibble is coming on board in a new role as chief technology officer, Cablevision said Monday, a day before the Bethpage, LI-based company reports earnings.

Dibble was most recently an adviser to Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer and was previously executive vice president of Central Technology and chief technology officer at First Data Corp.

The 54-year-old executive is replacing, in part, Yvette Kanouff, who took off for a position at Cisco in May.

Longtime Cablevision tech veteran Wilt Hildenbrand continues as a senior adviser.

Dibble was a top executive at Yahoo! for five years, before becoming a senior adviser.

He is also a director at the newly traded Tribune Publishing.

“Cablevision has an incredibly sophisticated and advanced technology organization with tremendous potential and opportunity,” Dibble said in a statement.

Cablevision shares closed Monday up 1.5 percent, to $19.45, in heavy trading.
