A thug punched a straphanger on a rush-hour train in Harlem, leaving the victim in critical condition, police said.

The attacker got into an argument Friday with the 45-year-old man on a northbound 6 train approaching 125th Street at about 8:30 a.m., cops said.

The victim was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was in critical condition, authorities said.

The suspect is about 6-feet tall and 180 pounds, police said.


A con artist tricked an elderly man into handing over his iPhone 5S and then fled with the device in Chelsea, police said.

The woman rang the man’s bell and asked if she could use his cellphone on June 3 at about 5:45 p.m.

The man obliged, then stepped away to use the bathroom. He returned to find the woman had split with his cellphone.


Police are investigating the death of a woman whose partially clothed corpse was found floating in the Hudson River in Inwood.

The victim’s body was badly decomposed when she was pulled from the river Sunday at about 5:30 p.m. at Dyckman Street, police sources said.

It’s believed the unidentified woman was in her 30s, cops said.

It was not immediately clear what, if any injuries, the woman suffered.


An Australian tourist had her Luis Vuitton purse and $1,000 in cash stolen after setting it down to make a phone call on the West Side, police said.

The 32-year-old was on her cellphone while standing at the corner of Tenth Avenue and West 35th Street last Friday at about 2:30 p.m. when she set her purse down for a moment.

When she went to reach for the bag, it was gone.

The tourist saw a man running off, but was unable to catch him.

The purse included a $950 wallet and a $300 Guess watch.

The victim left town two days later, sources said.


The Bronx

A 56-year-old woman who walks with a cane says she was knocked out by a bus driver after he bypassed her stop in the South Bronx.

Linda Grant boarded the BX 6 on Broadway in Washington Heights last Friday evening and went to visit a friend who lives near East 163rd Street, she told The Post.

She said she signaled to be let off at Kelly Street, but the bus continued, so Grant asked the driver, Eric McKay, 46, if he was going to make her walk several more blocks.

He stopped the bus near Fox Street and Grant asked for his MTA badge number as she descended the steps in front of about 20 to 30 other passengers.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound driver turned off the motor and punched Grant in the face, according to Grant and police sources.

The mother of two awoke in the gutter.

“The next thing I remember, I was in the street, with passengers, police and EMS helping me up,” the victim explained.

She filed a police report and McKay was charged with misdemeanor assault.

Grant was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where she was treated for cuts and bruises before being released.


A man was shot in the head inside the courtyard of a housing unit in Williamsbridge, cops said.

The 23-year-old victim was with a pal on Williamsbridge Road near Waring Avenue around 2:20 a.m., Monday, when a group of guys walked into the courtyard, cops said.

A close friend of the victim’s family walked over to the group, heard shots, spun around and saw his friend on the ground, cops said.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was rushed to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition, officials said.

The shooter and his crew fled.

It was not clear what sparked the shooting, but the victim has six prior arrests, including assault, drug possession and jumping a turnstile.


Brooklyn

A man was fighting for his life after being stabbed in Coney Island early Monday, authorities said.

The 49-year-old victim had stab wounds to the leg and back when he stumbled up to two police officers inside the Stillwell Avenue subway station at about 1:30 a.m., according to police.

The victim was rushed to Lutheran Hospital in critical condition, authorities said.


Staten Island

A firefighter was arrested after choking his girlfriend’s teenage daughter during a fight in New Dorp, authorities said.

Michael McKay, 33, allegedly wrapped both of his hands around the 19-year-old victim’s throat after a heated argument with her mother Sunday on Moreland Street at about 2:30 p.m., sources said.

The teen never lost consciousness, had no visible marks and refused medical attention, officials said.

McKay was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing.
