The ultimate Jack White playlist

Jack White’s second solo album “Lazaretto” drops on Tuesday, and although he’s now fully committed to a solo career, the last 15 years have seen the Detroit rocker (now based out of Nashville) amass a broad body of work through side-projects, collaborations and guest spots.

He makes most other musicians look like slackers, and with that in mind, here’s a playlist of six Jack-related tracks that shouldn’t be forgotten.

“Ball and Biscuit,” The White Stripes (2003)

Everyone knows the White Stripes’ hits, but this track from the “Elephant” album is one of their best works and captures two blistering guitar solos from White.

“Danger! High Voltage,” Electric Six (2003)

It was denied by both parties at the time of release, but in recent years, Dick Valentine of fellow Detorit band Electric Six confirmed they enlisted Jack to sing uncredited on this ridiculously fun disco hit.

“Steady, as she goes,” The Raconteurs (2006)

The Raconteurs consisted of Jack on vocals and his lesser-known buddies filling out the rest of the band — and felt more like a hobby for all involved. But this catchy single holds up remarkably well.

“Another Way to Die,” Alicia Keys and Jack White (2008)

When the producers of “Quantum of Solace” asked Jack to join the rare group of musicians who have written a James Bond theme, he responded by duetting with Alicia Keys on this brassy and soulful track.

“Hustle and Cuss,” The Dead Weather (2010)

Jack switched to drums for this outfit that also features Alison Mosshart of The Kills as lead singer. Their brand of low down, dirty rock ‘n’ roll showed that Mr. White Stripe had a dark heart.

“Leck Mich Im Arsch,” Insane Clown Posse and Jack White (2011)

This is where it gets weird. Along with bozo-rappers Insane Clone Posse, Jack strapped on his guitar once again and decided to cover an obscure Mozart composition about doing something that’s best described as scatological.

Why? Because he’s Jack White. He can do whatever he wants.
